At the end of November 2018, we attended the EUROSON School Course on Liver Elastography with our research system THED. The course was organized by the Ultrasound Learing Centre of Timsoara. About forty physicians and medical scientists tested different ultrasound systems and elastographical methods. The course was also the kick-off for a pilot study of 2D time harmonic elastography at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Victor Babes in Timisoara.
Read MoreThe paediatrician Dr. Christian Hudert and colleagues at Charité Berlin published a study on the diagnostic value of time-harmonic elastography for differentiating stages of fibrosis in paediatric patients who were overweight to extremely obese with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Time-harmonic elastography was feasible in all patients (0% failure rate) and may prospectively replace invasive biopsy methods.

On February 19th 2018 the German radio station "Deutschlandfunk" broadcasted an interview with Prof. Dr. Sack and Dr. Heiko Tzschätzsch on time harmonic elastography (THE), the method of the product THED. THED research combines high quality real-time images with remote palpation of organs towards improved diagnosis. THED is a highly innovative research platform for establishing the MRI-validated method time-harmonic elastography as an ultrasound imaging modality. THED research offers quantitative analysis of shear wave speed up to a penetration depth of 13 cm, which allows for shear wave propagation beyond fluid collections and the examination of obese patients.
